Can you give an overview of your conference topic/session?

The development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) under One Belt-One Road initiative of China will highlight the significance of new trade routes that will connect Asia (in particular China) with Europe, Africa, Middle East & Central Asia and will discuss the fast pace infrastructure development taking place across this corridor. The session will also give you; insight about new opportunities in intermodal transport business in the region.


Why is this an important topic to discuss?

The One Belt One Road project of China will have a significant impact on global transport infrastructure and on the existing trade lanes for global trade.  Therefore, the need to better understand the impact of such a significant international infrastructure development.


What can attendees expect to learn and discover from your session?

Attendees can expect to learn how the One Belt One Road project will change the economics of transport for various international trading routes.


What do you think is the biggest issue being faced/discussed in your industry at the moment?

The biggest issue being faced in our industry is how to cope with the current and future transport volumes and economics given the infrastructure requirements/ developments.


What is the biggest lesson you learned in 2016?

How regional cooperation can benefit international trade.


What do you think the biggest challenge for the industry will be in 2017?

How the infrastructure development should have private sector involved/engagement and at what stage.


What innovative measures should the industry adopt in the next few years to ensure market sustainability and growth?

We need to develop a global intermodal transport network which is more in tune with the trade requirements and economics of the supply chain.
